Established in 1987, Canvasland has developed smart manufacturing techniques to solve our client’s toughest challenges, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and a passion for exceeding our customers’ expectations.
It started with a husband and wife who had a dream. At the age of 32, Brendan & Sheryl Duffy decided to try something different; Brendan left his career in a chicken breeding operation and together they purchased a small enterprise and rebranded it as Canvasland. A three-person operation making painters drop sheets and railway tarpaulins.
As the requirements for tarpaulins declined with the growth in containers and painters could buy cheaper drop sheets from China and India, we needed to expand so we were not so dependent on the weather, and develop product lines that would keep us busier for longer. Canvasland was soon reinvented to become ‘innovative textile fabricators’.
Nearly 30 years on, and now employing 20 full time staff, Canvasland has transformed into a diverse company, contracted to manufacture product lines for the forestry, sporting, agricultural, boating and kayaking industries. Canvasland is commissioned on a regular basis to design bespoke and high profile inflatable structures, centre stage pieces for World of Wearable Art (WOW), artistic pieces installed across the Tasman and is home to Supertramp Trampolines –the only brand of trampoline still manufactured in NZ in its entirety.
“Without a doubt, ingenuity has been a driving force behind Canvasland’s success”.
